As the CEO and Principal of my own digital media consultancy, I leverage my 20+ years of experience and expertise in digital strategy, growth planning, monetization, operations, product development, and technology to help media companies thrive in the digital landscape. I work with a range of media clients, from traditional magazine publishers to online content creators, to provide them with solutions that enable them to achieve their goals and grow their audiences, revenues, and impact.Some of my recent projects include leading the digital integration of 20+ acquired media brands for a major magazine publisher, serving as a permanent advisor and fractional GM for a large TV and entertainment content publisher, and implementing a data-driven approach to content and distribution that increased traffic for a publisher by 8x. I also share my knowledge and insights with the next generation of media professionals as a faculty member at the Columbia Publishing Course at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where I lead the development of the business and digital media curriculum and serve as a lead instructor. Some highlights include:• Led the digital integration of 20+ acquired digital media brands for a major magazine publisher. Work included due diligence, evaluating the digital businesses, planning their integration into the organization, and working with their internal teams on how to staff and operate these brands as part of their new organizational structure.• Working with a large publisher of television and entertainment content on an ongoing basis to build and grow their digital business. I serve as a permanent advisor and fractional GM, and with my help, traffic and revenue have grown exponentially. They are now profitable and one of the largest digital television news and guidance publishers. • Developed the digital strategy for a newspaper chain, including a localization strategy, launching new verticals, and creating new lines of business. This company was subsequently acquired at an attractive valuation. • Helped a mid-sized health and wellness publisher triage and recovered from a severe downturn in traffic and revenue due to a failed redesign. Within 45 days we had the business back on track and growing.
