As Head of Development & Communications, I lead BGCI's Development, Communications and Membership Programme for BGCI. I lead the development and implementation of BGCI's Fundraising Strategy, working with BGCI's Secretary General and BGCI's Development Sub-committee to prioritise, co-ordinate and manage fundraising activities. I lead the development and implementation of BGCI's Communication Strategy, with the aim of substantially increasing BGCI communications and raising BGCI's public profile via tradition and social media over the next five years. I lead the development and implementation of BGCI's Membership Strategy, including new services, with the aim of substantially increasing membership over the next five years.

As Head of Membership Strategy and Services I am responsible for leading the strategic development of BGCI's Membership Programme. I will develop and implement a Membership Recruitment Strategy with the aim to substantially increase botanic garden membership over the next five years. I lead and manage BGCI's Membership Programme including developing and managing the conservation-oriented services BGCI provides to its members, which include BGCI’s accreditation scheme, partnership programme and Global Botanic Garden Fund.As Head of Membership Strategy and Services I am also responsible for coordinating communications with members and co-writing BGCI's Annual Member's Review.

Assisted the Crop Trust with the development of crop strategies.Supported the 10-year anniversary event of the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, which includedparticipation from Martha Stewart and other celebrities.Managed relationships with the Office of HRH the Prince of Wales, Unilever, Starbucks,and others.

Managed the Crop Trust’s private sector fundraising efforts, with a focus on funding theconservation and availability of the world’s most important collections of coffee, citrus,coconut, and tea diversity;Sourced USD 70,000 for the development of the only Global Conservation Strategy for TeaDiversity from industry leader.Co-authored the Global Conservation Strategy for Coffee Diversity with an aim to fundraisefor conservation efforts at the world’s major collections of coffee.Managed the Crop Trust’s communications and partnerships activities with regards to theSvalbard Global Seed Vault.Supported the development of innovative financing models for conserving crop diversity byworking with financial institutions and others.Led the Crop Trust’s relationship with high-level supporters of the Crop Trust including theoffice of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, GoPro, Settlers of Catan, and more.

Assisted in organizing the International Pledging Conference in April 2016 that led to anincrease of Crop Trust’s Endowment Fund from USD 170 million to USD 330 million.Orchestrated a recurring USD 1,000,000 contribution to the Crop Trust’s EndowmentFund from a private sector company.Orchestrated and attended meetings with Her Excellency Sheikha Lubna Al Qasami,Minister of International Cooperation and Development of the United Arab Emirates.Aided in the Crop Trust’s successful campaign to receive Patronage from His RoyalHighness, the Prince of Wales.Sourced USD 80,000 for the development of the only Global Conservation Strategy forCoffee Diversity in partnership with World Coffee Research.Developed partnership with Slow Food USA and organised a joint fundraising dinner hostedby the United Nation Deputy Secretary General, Mr. Jan Eliasson.

As a Communications assistant I was responsible for the Crop Trust's corporate website and social media presence. I led the project for the redesign of www.croptrust.org which launched in January 2015.I implemented the Crop Trust's global media outreach programs with the organisations PR agency and was responsible for creating communication material for presentations, online sources, fundraising, and public awareness.

I was the first recipient of the Cary Fowler ’71 Environmental Studies International Fellowship from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. The fellowship placed me at the Crop Trust for a one year internship. During this time, I helped organize the organization's move to Germany, a conference on Crop Wild Relatives, the Crop Trust's Opening Ceremony in Germany and aided the scientific team with various research assignments. I attended the International Advisory Council Meeting for the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Svalbard, Norway where I was responsible for media related items for the meetings as well as the minute-taker. I was responsible for social media and some global media outreach during the internship.

I attended all meetings of the Board of Directors and all meetings of the Members and record all the proceedings of the meetings of the Members and of the Board of Directors and perform duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Direc­tors or the President. I managed grants and fundraising efforts associated with the Friends. I performed administrative work on behalf of the Board and other members/officers.

My proudest accomplishment while working at the Mayor’s office was my integral involvement in the creation and organization of the first Annual GreenUp Memphis Festival. The festival was held on October 30, 2010, in conjunction with the Memphis Farmers Market. In addition to developing the initial idea for the festival, I contacted and organized vendors and information booths, arranged live music, and dealt with publicity, while also making sure the festival was as clean and environmentally friendly as possible. We placed our focus on recycling and energy consumption. With no initial budget, I helped to create a successful festival that attracted over a thousand people on fairly short notice. I also wrote proclamations and letters for correspondents of Mayor A C Wharton, aided in several appearances by Mayor Wharton, and initiated the process of filling the cities’ boards and commissions.

I wrote blogs and articles about local Memphis events and organizations for www.memphisconnect.com. I also aided in the marketing of The Memphis Leadership Academy’s “Celebrate What’s Right” luncheon series through online resources such as Twitter, Facebook, the Memphis Connect blog, and the Leadership Academy’s online mailing list. I also worked with the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation to advocate the importance of mentoring in Memphis through an article in which I interviewed Grizzlies point guard, Mike Conley.
