InternThe Office Of The Mayor Of Memphis Jul 2010 - Dec 2010My proudest accomplishment while working at the Mayor’s office was my integral involvement in the creation and organization of the first Annual GreenUp Memphis Festival. The festival was held on October 30, 2010, in conjunction with the Memphis Farmers Market. In addition to developing the initial idea for the festival, I contacted and organized vendors and information booths, arranged live music, and dealt with publicity, while also making sure the festival was as clean and environmentally friendly as possible. We placed our focus on recycling and energy consumption. With no initial budget, I helped to create a successful festival that attracted over a thousand people on fairly short notice. I also wrote proclamations and letters for correspondents of Mayor A C Wharton, aided in several appearances by Mayor Wharton, and initiated the process of filling the cities’ boards and commissions.
