The Hartville Church of the Brethren has hired me as the "Youth and Young Adult Coordinator". It's my job to "Facilitate and organize activities for the Junior and Senior High Youth and Young Adult programming." and thereby provide for the Spiritual Growth of the youth of the church.It's quite a responsibility!

In the Church of the Brethren, the Pastor serves as the spiritual leader and Leadership Team Chairperson as the executive leader. The Leadership Team Chairperson, coordinates the efforts of a 8 commission chairs to meet all the functional and operational needs of the Church. I stepped in as chairperson in a time of instability in the Hartville Church. Two pastors had recently resigned. In the first three years as Chairperson, I formed a new leadership team (all other members had reached term limits), helped the church recreate an obtainable budget, guided the leadership team through the reviewed and revision of the Church Constitution and by-laws, oversaw required capital improvement projects (roof, water system and parking lot), interviewed and hired an interim pastor, oversaw the formation and function of a search committee that hired a new pastor.To provide continued stability under the new pastor, I was asked to serve another 3 years. After that I took a term off and another chair served, who resigned and their vice-chair took over. The vice-chair then also resigned and I was asked to serve as interim and then was elected chair again. So there was a year and some (2?) interuption in the middle of this decade tenure as chair.

With several patents recorded for our work, we took an actively sold DOS application with 15 years of market supremacy, designed to control a single point of sale site and transformed it into a COM based wide area network application built to integrate hundreds of sites in a chain with near-real-time replication in a time when broadband was yet a dream in most communities. I was the lead developer at this sofware company specializing in the Form and Process Automation market. During my time with FSDC I created more than 15 standalone software titles sold in catelogs nation wide. I implemented additional contracted jobs such as the operational software for the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries and design diagrams for the New York Subway and software and hardware maintenence at local law firms.As the lead developer at a small programming house, this meant I was also the lead support representive and network administrator. I also interviewed, highered and trained, the graphic artists and programmers that we employed to assist in the task of beginning to end retail software development.

Hired as an intern, I continued to work for NorthWinds for five years. We were distinguished as the only company using the Artificial Intelligence programing language PDC Prolog to produce Retail software. Our customers included Deluxe Check Printers, Hoffman LaRoche, Blumberg Legal, and the Port Authority of NY & NJ.Working from the World Trade Towers and the runways of the Newark International Airport, I was the lead developer on the first Criminal Arrest Processing Software (CAPS) used by the NY&NJ Port Authority. We processed the incidents involving everything from drunken celebrities hauled off planes to large car theft rings. The intelligent questionnaires built into CAPS handled everything determining which charges applied from the criminal code to printing the fingerprint cards and arrest warrants.
