Brian Dunsby is a succesful serial entrepreneur who has been managing and helping small businesses, trade associations and professional Institutes for over 40 years. Brian had 17 years management experience in a variety of small, medium and large enterprises before building up and selling out his own business successfully. He has since had extensive experience of Trade Association and Professional Institute management, including Chief Executive of the Institute of Business Advisers in the UK from 1992 until 2000. Brian was a Director and Senior Vice-President of ICSB, the International Council for Small Business. He organised the ICSB World Conference in 2003 on the theme “Advancing Entrepreneurship and Small Business” He has organised similar Conferences for the Institute of Small Business & Entrepreneurship in 2004-2008. He was Chief Executive of Harrogate Chamber of Trade & Commerce from 2002 to 2016. In April 2008 he was honoured with Her Majesty The Queen’s Award for Enterprise Promotion. In 2009 and 2010 he organised the International Enterprise Promotion Convention. In March 2010 he received a Lifetime Achievement Award in the Ackrill Media Group Business Awards. He created the Yorkshire Business Market in 2007 and transferred it to the Yorkshire Society in 2018. Brian and his wife Beryl now organise the Harrogate Christmas Market which is a very popular highly regarded traditional Yorkshire-themed Christmas Market held in the centre of Harrogate.He successfully bid for more direct Harrogate-London Trains and for upgrading services on the Leeds-Harrogate-York line .
