Senior Technical Requirements Tester
CurrentA lot of people don't understand what Technical Requirements are, even those in the video game industry. We deal directly with the three major console publishers, in my case Sony. They have created a list of rules for all titles that are submitted to them. Most developers who program don't fully understand them and it is my job to explain it to them. Issues like naming conventions, technical issues like proper save flow or messages as well as submission details like product codes, network IDs or master disc creation.I work with the developers to make sure the needs of our producers are met. I work with our QA teams to ensure issues are being found and properly handled. Then I have to work with Sony to finalize production. In a typical QA Job a functional tester may write 20 bugs a day, while I would only write about 50 bugs a project because my issues are more complicated and rare, however a single failure on my issues would cause the title to be delayed.
