A £400 million Private Equity Backed IT hardware importer and distributor employing approximately 650 people. Its offerings include supply chain optimisation, cloud-based solutions, IT security services, compliant disposal of IT goods and electronic goods.  Managed operational transformation, influencing the accumulation of £400m, providing financial assistance Enhanced the financial position of subsidiary operations, integrating systems, Shared Services processes and new ERP system, increasing effectiveness of reporting methodology Liaised with key stakeholders and private equity shareholders, sharing information Led and managed team of 70+, delivering expert coaching and mentoring, and reduced Executive Team from 26 to 10, influencing more focused decision-making processes

Mondi is an international paper and packaging company, with production operations across 31 countries with 2009 revenues of €5.3 billion. Mondi is a dual listed company (DLC) with primary listings on the Johannesburg and London stock exchanges. With the move of the Head Office from London to South Africa my core mandate was to set up the Financial Function in South Africa and ensure that standards did not drop.

City Power is the privatised electricity distribution business for the City of Johannesburg with turnover of approximately £200 million. Reporting to the CEO and Board I was employed to set up the Financial Function for this newly created Utility, provide experienced leadership to the executive committee and ensure appropriate governance structures.Key Achievements:• Set up a high performing finance team and successfully mentored inexperienced managers as part of the diversity program.• Put in place accurate and timeous financial and management reporting• Implemented a Balanced Scorecard methodology for management reporting. • I successfully implemented SAP and a Data Warehouse together with Business Automation and Document Management (Work Flow).• Recovered £50 million in unrecorded or non-invoiced revenue• Was the first CoJ Major Entity to obtain an unqualified audit from the Auditor General.• Successfully managed the relationship between management, the Board and our political stakeholders
