Henry A. Davidsen was founded in 2006 by Brian Lipstein.Lipstein is the only Association of Image Consultants International (AICI) Certified Male Image Consultant in the Philadelphia region.After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 2006 with a degree in Economics, Lipstein devised Henry A. Davidsen as part of the Wharton Venture Initiation Program (VIP) and in response to a need for high quality, one-on-one consulting wardrobe services. The company was built on Lipstein’s passion for providing the highest quality product with the highest level of customer service—thereby returning value and satisfaction to all clients. When Henry A. Davidsen clients receive compliments on their garments, Lipstein knows that the experiment has been successful. Lipstein sought knowledge from industry experts and undertook an apprenticeship to learn fit and pattern making from master tailors and suppliers of fabrics from all over the world. He supplemented this training with a certification in Image Consulting (Your Appearance, Behavior, and Communication) and then opened the Henry A. Davidsen studio in Rittenhouse Square. The elegant showroom provides clients with a sleek and masculine atmosphere with polished mahogany flooring, exposed industrial ductwork, rich velvet window treatments and comfortable leather couches and armchairs. Other details like locally produced gin, an electronic gaming system and flat paneled screens showing CNN and ESPN complete the guy-friendly ambiance. Lipstein is a leader in the image consulting field, having previously served on the AICI International board of directors (2010-2012) and the AICI OH/PA Chapter board of directors (2007-2010). He also served as the Men’s Image Editor for global trade publication Image Update from 2007-2011. Locally he has chaired the adivsory council for MenzFit and currently gives time as a board member for Career Wardrobe. His future plans for Henry A.
