I am a cloud architect at Diaceutics, leading a platform engineering team responsible for the cloud, application and data platforms behind DXRX a diagnostic commercialisation platform for precision medicine.The applications platform is a microservices architecture running on kubernetes in AWS with fully automated CI/CD processes, while the data platform uses data mesh concepts and tools such as Databricks, Snowflake and Airflow to process billion row datasets. All of the components are managed using infrastructure as code.I am a hands-on leader, deeply involved in the design, build, implementation and adoption of cloud platforms and the many components contained within them. I have expertise in the cost economics of cloud platforms, designing for highly regulated environments, setting up infrastructure as code approaches and developing CI/CD pipelines. I have set up teams of cloud and devops engineers and mentored and coached them on the journey.In previous roles, I have set up large scale AWS architectures managing 100+ AWS accounts and set up application and data platforms in the financial sector. I have also designed and implemented enterprise solutions to streamline business processes with customers, suppliers, logistics partners and other business partners in the telecoms sector, using a variety of methodologies, and a variety of commercial and open-source toolsets and technologies. I have been a key contributor in organisations that have deployed enterprise architectures, which have enabled multi-million dollar and in some cases, billion dollar revenue streams.
