(2000 - 2007)Lead all engineering activities for Symantec’s Gateway and Groupware Security product line including 5 Enterprise Security Products. Responsibilities include development, quality assurance, documentation, project management and the entire software lifecycle.Grew the team from a small “start-up mentality” team of 15 into a world class enterprise software development operation with over 100 employees in two countries. Planned and executed a transformation to a global development strategy, off-shoring a large portion of the development to team members in India. Ultimately resulted in the ability to re-allocate $3+ million to more strategic initiatives, both within the team and outside of it. After identifying common capabilities within the Mail Security products, led the development of a reusable component to encapsulate shared functionality. Resulted in the elimination of over 70% of the integration and certification effort across the integrating product lines.
