I am the senior editor, writer, music critic/reviewer, producer and event promoter for Music Insider Magazine. As the senior editor and writer, I have interviewed artists such as John Connolly of Sevendust, Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke, Johnny Rabb of Collective Soul, guitarist/singer/songwriter, Richie Kotzen of The Winery Dogs, singer/songwriter, Vinnie Dombroski, of Detroit's Sponge; singer/guitarist/songwriter, Dave Pirner of Soul Asylum, singer/guitarist/songwriter, Doug Robb of Hoobastank, singer/guitarist/songwriter, Michael John of the hot Australian group Arcane Saints; Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer, Toby Wright; John Poppo, Chairman of the Grammy Awards, and many more.During my interviews with these artists, I take a more personal tack when speaking with my subjects, focusing on various aspects of their career that others might tend to gloss over, or simply ignore entirely. My intentions were to get at the heart of what makes these musicians who they are — to get a glimpse into their deepest thoughts on their creative processes in order to find out what inspires them to create music, use certain lyrics and sounds to create mental imagery and to evoke such strong emotions within their audience.I have more than 30 years of music industry experience as a professional musician, working as a drummer/singer with east coast variety bands, Smylin’ Jack, Shirkaday, Big Fat Daddy, Westpole, and others. Before moving east, I played in several west coast original music bands, most notably Big Midget, K.L.R., and numerous shows with the Charlie Brechtel Band in the San Francisco Bay area.I have worked as a live sound reinforcement engineer, stage manager/director, and producer on both coasts for numerous bands and venues, including as Stage Manager and Co-Producer of the Bay Area Blues Society's annual Blues Awards Show in San Jose, California, and as a live broadcast production assistant on Rock Radio 98.5 KOME's '”Blazy & Bob Breakfast Club.”
