I have over 30 years of experience in creating educational pathways and opportunities for students underserved in the public school system and underrepresented in higher education through program leadership, innovative school model design, public-private partnerships, curriculum design, staff development, and classroom instruction. In the past three years, I have served in different capacities as researcher, program development coach, and interim college administrator in Massachusetts as part of the effort to advance the Early College Initiative across the commonwealth. With support from elected officials and state agencies, Massachusetts has been attempting to close the college degree earning gap for a variety of demographic groups historically underrepresented in Massachusetts higher education. I have been serving as a consultant for the last few years with the Massachusetts Alliance for Early College, a small, non-profit formed to advocate for Early College development, as well as for Jobs for the Future, a nationwide workforce development organization that is considered the ‘parent’ organization for the Early College movement since the early 2000s. Finally, I have also served as an interim director for the College Access Office at Bristol Community College in Fall River, MA. I am very proud of the fact that I have played important roles in creating new public school models and have developed structures and policies that support their success in order to better serve students underserved in the public school system and underrepresented in higher education.
