I was able to go from not knowing any Perl to be being a contributing team member in the time from my first interview to my starting date, about one month. I spent most of my time working on Adopt-a-Pet, fixing bugs, creating specs, and developing new features.I also did devops work and worked to move hosting of Adopt-a-Pet to AWS. I did early stage work.

I used to contribute to Trac, primarily through plugins. I took over maintenance of the Batch Modify plugin, which was completely broken at the time. Fixed bugs, added features, rewrote the UI, and got community contributions.Also created a Trac Whiteboard plugin, which displayed custom query results in a kanban-style view. Users could drag-and-drop.
