Project Management duties consist of attending client meetings, writing proposals, RFP’s, and agreements, delegating work to team members, overseeing project tasks and budgets from start to finish, overseeing design and assisting lower level staff with design tasks, coordinating staff needs with other Project Managers, scheduling subconsultants, providing quality control and quality assurance reviews of calculations, drawings, and construction documents, maintaining Delta’s quality management system, and reviewing invoices. Duties consist of designing and creating construction documents, drawings, and specifications as well as providing construction administration and inspection on many bridge replacement, bridge rehabilitation, and culvert replacement projects. Structural design experience includes structural steel framing, reinforced concrete abutments, prestressed concrete beams, precast concrete box culverts, frames, and wingwalls, concrete and open steel grate decking, and timber decking in addition to hydraulic analysis of streams, site/civil design, and construction engineering. Highway design experience includes horizontal alignments, vertical profiles, bridge and roadway layout, railing configurations, and detour plans and signage. Responsibilities also include shop drawing and calculation review, structural design review, Level 1 load ratings of simple, continuous, and truss bridges, Design Reports for federal and state funded projects, environmental permitting, and drone survey and scanning. Work is performed mainly for County and local municipalities with much of the work being coordinated with New York State DOT as a part of the BridgeNY program, as well as many contractors, precasters, and crane companies. Contractor support services include design of bridge demolition, bridge and culvert erection plans, temporary bridge abutments, temporary sheet piling, soldier pile and lagging walls, segmental block retaining walls, cofferdams, structural jacking, and utility supports. Proficient use of many design and drafting software’s including Microstation, Inroads, SAP2000, Leap Bridge Concrete, Merlin Dash, Culvert Master, Eriksson Culvert, TAEG, CivilTech, Tekla Tedds, and Drone Deploy. Experience with AISC, AASHTO, NYSDOT Bridge and Highway design manuals, NYSDOT standard sheets, NYSDEC requirements, and MUTCD.
