Brian Michaels began his practice of law in 1995 when he was selected by then Los Angeles City Attorney James Hahn to work as a Criminal Prosecutor at the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. Prior to his admission to practice, Mr. Michaels was a highly successful law student graduating with honors and serving as a writer on his school's Law Review. He also was selected, during his 2nd year of Law School, to serve as a Clerk to Appellate Court Justice Earl Johnson, Jr where he wrote memorandum opinions for the court. As a City Attorney Mr. Michaels tried over 75 cases to verdict with over a 95% success rate. Additionally Mr. Michaels tried CIvil cases in Federal Court in defense of the Los Angeles Police Department during the highly charged Rampart Scandal. Mr. Michaels won consecutive Jury Verdicts there despite overwhelming odds. After 7 years with the City Attorney Mr. Michaels left the City Attorney's office to begin his own practice in 2002.
