I get to conclusions using my diverse legal, business and technical background. While I’ve been a member of the North Carolina Bar since 2003, I began my career as a programmer (after pre-career stints as a Walt Disney World ride operator and McDonalds burger jockey, of course). The analytical and technical skills acquired as a programmer combine with the mentoring skills developed during my time as a technical instructor and the legal and negotiation skills honed while leading licensing and procurement teams, all in the service of getting to final answers. I've led a variety of global sourcing and supply chain teams with multi-billion dollar supplier portfolios in manufacturing, services, retail, clinical research and government contracting environments. In addition to annual continuing legal education, I've had extensive training in Federal contracting and subcontracting. I've organized and monitored compliance initiatives to ensure proper controls around commercial and clinical requirements as well as requirements under Federal acquisition and assistance awards. In all my roles, I've found ways to create or enhance tools and processes to promote proper management of the supply base, transparency of the organization, and fulfillment of customer needs.My skills include data analytics, operations management, government contracting, contract review and drafting, negotiation, international strategic sourcing, project management, training and mentoring, procurement and supply chain management, personnel management at several levels, supplier management and evaluation.
