OrganizerTriangle Startup Weekend - Health Nov 2013 - Aug 2015I was the creator and one of the organizers for the Triangle's health-themed Startup Weekend. It was a chance for people who work across the spectrum of healthcare technology and innovation - providers, large companies, startups, scholars, developers, and others - to get together for a weekend to test out a business model, and potentially start a new business. In just over 48 hours, people gather, split into teams to tackle a problem, do market research and some customer validation. At the end of the weekend they pitch their solution to a panel of judges and, potentially, investors. For this event we not only had people coming up with business ideas as pre-set solutions, but also invited companies and providers to come with some problems they would like to see solved, or resources like data sets and APIs that teams can use.
