Advancing innovation is hard on its own and it can be more complex when trying to navigate the internal working of a hospital. We work with you to advance your idea in a strategic way so you are maximizing your time and effort. We help startups and early stage companies think through their strategy and plan to work with hospitals helping them better plan, prepare and navigate the hospital relationship.We offer educational workshops focused on intraprenurers and intraprenurship at hospitals, healthcare institutions, and academic settings.

Teaching the first class in the MassArt Master's of Design: Design Innovation. I'm teaching a class focused on Business Modeling and Business Design & Innovation.

I worked with the team to identify pathways to scale the the telemedicine product offering leverage staff and patient insights to inform design and development strategies.

I supported the ADK digital health portfolio team and clients to strategically navigate developing digital solutions to clinical challenges. I built relationships and supported hospital innovation teams and clinical innovators in early stage new product development & strategy

My Role: Manager, Innovation Strategy, Internal Innovation Programs, & Industry Business Development.Manager, Innovation Strategy:Innovation project portfolio management and supporting the development of digital innovation strategy at BWH to advance their innovations forward. In addition, I worked closely with the broader innovation ecosystem to explore opportunities for collaboration on internal projects. RESULTS: At the time of leaving iHub 4 project in my portfolio either had spun out or were in the process of creating spin out companies and 3 others were being tested as a direct hospital offering. Internal Innovation Programs:Engage, enable and accelerate internal innovations at Brigham. This includes managing and strategically developing to scale the innovation support and capabilities at Brigham Health. My focus were on programs to support the internal innovation community of Brigham Health clinicians, researchers and staff. Programs included: coaching, Innovation Series, Idea Labs, Schlager Family grant program for early ideas and a innovation cluster initiative model to over come silos. The cluster program resulted in 4 groups: Opioid Innovation Initiative, Aging Digital Innovation Initiative, VR/AR/XR Initiative and a Voice/Conversational AI initiative. Business Development: Developed a profolio of industry relationships covering large Tech, Med. Device, and Pharma companies exploring collaboration opportunities related to digital innovation. RESULTS: Over two years closed 1 agreement for sponsored research with a pharma company and 2 additional deals entering SOW development, 1 closed deal with a large technology company, which was entering phase 2 work, and 3 companies exploring collaborations - one tech, and two medical device companies. Therapeutic Systems's mission was to improve the quality of life and enhance the quality of care for people with neurological disorders and mental illnesses. Therapeutic Systems specialized in design and development of person-centered evidence based medical devices to address the unique sensory processing issues related to autism spectrum disorders, anxiety based disorders, trauma and sensory processing disorders.Therapeutic Systems had been featured by the media in the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Medical Device + Diagnostic Industry (MDDI) and Mass Device and the winning of the UMass Business Plan competition, and NCIIA grant award, and MassChallenge-the world's largest accelerator and business plan competition. As CEO Brian lead and oversaw the technology transfer, raising of seed funding , product development, brand creation, clinical research, the creation of a manufacturing partnership, quality system creation, FDA class I registration, the launch of Therapeutic System's first product, and sales leading to revenue. Moving forward I am excited about advancing the mission resulted in my founding of Therapeutic Systems through advocacy for innovation in mental health. I will continue to work on using innovation to change the way care is provided to people with neurological disorders and mental illness.

Consultant for the E-Team programs with a focus on supporting, advising, and mentoring early stage medical device and technology teams. The primary focus has been supporting the first Village Capital VentureWell medical device/technology focused accelerator cohort. During this cohort my role was similar to an entrepreneur in residence to help the teams in the program develop their companies.

Supported internal and client projects.Supported the definition of an internal project resulted in identification of opportunities to improve the internal project process. Provided a report that outlined opportunities for improvement with specific recommendations for near & long term improvements.Supported marketing and community engagement project outlining a plan and strategy to engage the Boston medical device and technology start-up ecosystem. Supported the development of prototypes and contributed design insights in the concept phase for external client projects

One of 5 startups working out of a startup co-working space. I was part of the advisory board that helped manage the center for entrepreneurship. I planned, organized, and managed regional innovation and entrepreneurship community building initiatives that covered the pioneer valley. The main effort was the coordination and management of quarterly meetings bringing together leaders across the region and facilitating discussion on how to advance and grow an innovation and entrepreneurship community in western MA.

Sophomore level project based design class. The class provided students a balance of design theory and hands on design covering developing an idea for a product, to pitching the concept, to building a proof of concept prototype. The class also and included a 3D CAD Lab where students learned CAD design and modeling.

Taught and supported a range of engineering design classes covering sophomore introductory classes to senior capstone classes. All classes were project based and most included the design of prototypes with analysis. I managed the class projects on average 15 groups of 3 students each semester. I was responsible for grading, project management, office hours, reviews and some class lectures. I also over saw and taught the design labs associated with the classes. The labs covered 3D CAD modeling and prototype creation.
