My Role: Manager, Innovation Strategy, Internal Innovation Programs, & Industry Business Development.Manager, Innovation Strategy:Innovation project portfolio management and supporting the development of digital innovation strategy at BWH to advance their innovations forward. In addition, I worked closely with the broader innovation ecosystem to explore opportunities for collaboration on internal projects. RESULTS: At the time of leaving iHub 4 project in my portfolio either had spun out or were in the process of creating spin out companies and 3 others were being tested as a direct hospital offering. Internal Innovation Programs:Engage, enable and accelerate internal innovations at Brigham. This includes managing and strategically developing to scale the innovation support and capabilities at Brigham Health. My focus were on programs to support the internal innovation community of Brigham Health clinicians, researchers and staff. Programs included: coaching, Innovation Series, Idea Labs, Schlager Family grant program for early ideas and a innovation cluster initiative model to over come silos. The cluster program resulted in 4 groups: Opioid Innovation Initiative, Aging Digital Innovation Initiative, VR/AR/XR Initiative and a Voice/Conversational AI initiative. Business Development: Developed a profolio of industry relationships covering large Tech, Med. Device, and Pharma companies exploring collaboration opportunities related to digital innovation. RESULTS: Over two years closed 1 agreement for sponsored research with a pharma company and 2 additional deals entering SOW development, 1 closed deal with a large technology company, which was entering phase 2 work, and 3 companies exploring collaborations - one tech, and two medical device companies. Therapeutic Systems's mission was to improve the quality of life and enhance the quality of care for people with neurological disorders and mental illnesses. Therapeutic Systems specialized in design and development of person-centered evidence based medical devices to address the unique sensory processing issues related to autism spectrum disorders, anxiety based disorders, trauma and sensory processing disorders.Therapeutic Systems had been featured by the media in the Boston Globe, Boston Herald, Medical Device + Diagnostic Industry (MDDI) and Mass Device and the winning of the UMass Business Plan competition, and NCIIA grant award, and MassChallenge-the world's largest accelerator and business plan competition. As CEO Brian lead and oversaw the technology transfer, raising of seed funding , product development, brand creation, clinical research, the creation of a manufacturing partnership, quality system creation, FDA class I registration, the launch of Therapeutic System's first product, and sales leading to revenue. Moving forward I am excited about advancing the mission resulted in my founding of Therapeutic Systems through advocacy for innovation in mental health. I will continue to work on using innovation to change the way care is provided to people with neurological disorders and mental illness.
