Hello! My name is Brianna, but most people call me Bri. 🌏 I am an international MSW student currently studying at the Columbia School of Social Work. In pursuit of my public health interests, I also volunteer with Columbia Health delivering workshops on a variety of student health topics.🌈 Currently, I am stationed at The Child and Family Institute of Mount Sinai Hospital delivering outpatient psychiatric services to children, adolescents, and families.🌱 My approach is holistic and strengths-based, using humor, positive psychology, CBT, and DBT skills to empower clients with interpersonal effectiveness skills, and support them in creating meaning as they become their best selves! My philosophy is to always leave people better than I found them. 💡 I have an extensive background in psychology, research, and workshop facilitation on topics of sexual health, social cognition and emotion, flourishing, relationship skills, and critical thinking.🇸🇬 Fun fact about me: I am a ‘Third Culture Kid'; I was born in Singapore, lived in Canada, and am a citizen of the UK! This experience helped me become proficient in reading, writing, and speaking Mandarin. 💭 During my time in the IT/Tech space as a Recruitment Consultant, I learned that being a recruiter is so much more than making transactions; it is about helping people make meaningful change in their lives. This experience led me to pursue further education in social work. 🚀 Outside my clinical interests, I am curious about the intersections of social work, culture, and leadership and how we can drive organizational change through employee-centered management strategies, culturally-inclusive policies, and the incorporation of wellness practices. 🐈⬛ I’m passionate about cats and animal welfare! I also enjoy exploring new places, trying new food, doing crosswords, and reading about cultural psychology. If you are still reading this, I will leave you with these words by Desmond Tutu: “Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.” If you would like to connect, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
