The Roosevelt Institute: Campus Network is a prestigious think tank for undergraduate students. As the Vice President of Binghamton’s Roosevelt Institute, I assisted in the Student Association chartering process of the club, facilitated policy development training of new members, and acted as the Public Relations liaison of our chapter. My activities as the current President of the Binghamton University chapter include:• Established connections with local government officials throughout the County to support Roosevelt Institute initiatives and policies written by our students.• Partnered with a local nonprofit organization to plan a day trip to Albany to lobby legislation concerning New York’s heroin epidemic.• Conducted research on student opinions on local politics to be published in Binghamton University’s first “Blueprint” publication for Fall 2016.• Coordinated a trip to Cornell’s Roosevelt Institute Policy Panel to learn how to organize a policy panel and to discuss how our chapters can work together in the future.
