My story is a prime example of the epidemic at hand- substance abuse. Millions struggle with addiction. My story will empower others to understand, empathize and find hope in the pain they face. I have been homeless, sexually assaulted, incarcerated, a victim of patient brokering rings ( I still promote going to treatment and love to work with many centers), domestically abused, addicted to heroin, and lost several loved ones to addiction including my beloved younger sister, Whitney Jaynes. I started, "Breaking Chains; The Whitney Project", in her memory. I now travel the country to speak about the obstacles I faced while getting clean and some solutions to a very common, but deadly problem.
