Most recently I work as an elected official, serving as State Representative in House District 27 in my second term. I serve as vice chair of the Joint Technology Committee, and as a member of the Energy and Environment and Health and Insurance Committees. I am the first openly trans person elected in Colorado. I thrive on challenges. I don't shy away from things that are 'difficult' or 'challenging'. Why would I roast my own coffee or brew my own beer? There are plenty quality products I could buy in the store that are excellent and I may not do much better. What I like is understanding the process and having the ability to create things for myself and to share. Understanding the process gives you a greater appreciation and a better view on how to improve things. Throughout my career, I have been tasked with many challenging tasks under difficult and stressful conditions. I consider every situation as training for an even greater challenge thus giving me the ability to be a creative problem solver and think outside the box. These skills are difficult to learn in a university and is a real-world skill that will benefit a prospective company. I am a primarily self-taught programmer having most recently taken up JavaScript, SQL, CSS, PHP and HTML5. I have several data analysis projects going on involving JavaScript and PHP.
