I have a strong passion for wildlife and conservation. I am self-motivated and I am dedicated to seeking out opportunities to further enhance my knowledge and skills to ensure I am up to date and constantly evolving into the best wildlife keeper/carer/researcher I can be. I have experience with a wide range of Australian species such as tiger quolls, dingoes, koalas, a variety of birds, kangaroos, small mammals and non-venomous reptiles. Additionally, I have cared for a range of aquatic species from river sharks, to sea turtles to tropical fish. When caring for these different species it includes but is not limited to, safe handling practices, health checks, training/conditioning, food preparation and feeding, cleaning, preparing enrichment and observing behaviours, recording, and analysing data. My wide range of animal knowledge allows me to adapt quickly to working with new animals and understanding their biology. I maintain a high level of communication, respect and effectiveness when working within a team and my ability to communicate effectively is demonstrated by ensuring all team members are kept up to date with accurate and clear daily updates/reports as required. I have strong verbal and written communication skills as in all my past and present positions it has been important to hold these skills. I am also confident when working on my own and demonstrate this in my current keeping roles by successfully completing ‘rounds’ independently while taking the initiative to complete any extra tasks on my own to help my team out or to complete.
