Hello! After teaching dual credit English online for several years, I am excited about the prospect of returning to in-person academia in the near future.I had three sons in four years, which was already busy enough on its own on top of teaching dual credit remotely. Then, my youngest developed hepatoblastoma and was treated in Spokane for the entire duration of 2023. He's now Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing as a result of chemotherapy, but thankfully, he is now in remission and back to being a full-time agent of chaos. It's time for our family to consider relocating to a school district that has a full-time Teacher of the Deaf. Moscow, Idaho is high on our list, a place I've known and loved since childhood and my days as an undergraduate, but we have a few other cities in mind as well.I have a BA in English with a minor in Spanish as well as a BS in education with a minor in TESL. During my undergraduate career, I worked in the University of Idaho Writing Center and was the only undergraduate student selected to teach a supplemental English course for students identified as requiring additional support for English 101.After graduating, I taught high school in-person at Lake City in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, for several years before returning to full-time graduate school and working as a graduate teaching assistant while completing my MA in literature. Most of my graduate studies focused on American literature and my non-thesis research focused on the work of Annie Proulx. I also studied online pedagogy and produced reference materials for future graduate TAs also teaching primarily online.Since then, I've taught dual credit remotely with IDLA, providing me significant experience in digital learning even pre-COVID.
