The Amadi Guess Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to providing nutritious after-school meals to under served children. My roles and responsibilities include:1. Maintaining strong connections and communication between Branch Directors and Site Supervisors in the Fort Worth Independent School District and Fort Worth Boys and Girls Clubs.2. Managing seven teams of AGF Instructors who are responsible for tutoring, mentoring and dispersing meals among the children. 3. Conducting weekly site visits to ensure compliance with the Texas Department of Agriculture's regulations.4. Recruiting and hiring new talent for the AGF Instructor position.

City Year is an organization designed to help at-risk scholars in low-performing schools succeed academically, socially and emotionally. City Year’s national board of Trustees voted, unanimously, to make City Year Dallas the company's 26th official site. After an exciting inaugural 6 month spring semester, City Year Dallas served five Dallas ISD schools, with 50 AmeriCorps members, during the 2015-16 academic year. I received the opportunity to serve on a team of 10 members at Oliver Wendell Holmes Middle School for the 2015-2016 school year. During that year, my objectives were:1. To vigorously advocate for City Year's cause 2. To build and maintain trusting relationships with students, staff and members of the Oak Cliff community 3.To provide out-of-the box opportunities for students to learn, get to know themselves and grow academically and socially. During my service year, my objectives were met and exceeded. I was able to advocate for City Year by being the 2015 AmeriCorps Testimonial Speaker at our Inaugural Service. I also participated in an interview done by the Dallas Morning News. My team and I were able to establish relationships with students, staff and community members by engaging in events such as sporting games and leading school beautification efforts. Lastly, my team and I were able to provide out-of-the-box opportunities for our students by forging relationships with local non-profits like Big Thought and All Stars Project of Dallas to bring them resources. O.W. Holmes hosted their first annual talent show and poetry slam.

I participated in a practicum experience for my last semester at Missouri State University. Because the Child Advocacy Center is such a confidential place, there is only one student selected per semester. I was selected for the Spring 2015 semester. My roles and responsibilities included:•Observing over 500 hours of live forensic interviews. •Providing emotional and instructional support to the parents and children in the program that resulted in shorter waiting times.•Attending multidisciplinary team case reviews with Springfield Police Department and Division of Family Services to determine next steps. •Researching documents to support evidence in case trials for forensic interviewers on trial.

•Displayed joy and professionalism when greeting students and faculty entering the office. •Maintained and updated confidential student data forms and other paperwork on a regular basis.•Verified student information in an accurate and discrete manner.•Efficiently organized office supplies and documents weekly for easier accessibility for faculty members.

•Led five team members and peers to provide developmental activities, with a focus on language and literacy to preschool aged children.•Participated as an AmeriCorps member in an award-winning network of volunteers who provided positive adult-child relationships to prepare children attending preschool in low-income neighborhoods for success.•Coached team members by modeling appropriate practices and developed skills to lead discussions related to parent engagement and children’s development.•Served over 300 hours in Metro Preschool.

•Collaborated with a team of five Corps Members to plan activities for a class of 20 preschool children.•Received intensive training and professional development in early childhood theory and practice, language and literacy development, leadership skills, and communication with families. •Implemented early childhood curriculum that promoted children’s language and literacy skills learning.•Served over 300 hours in Alphabet Academy Preschool.
