KeNHA Construction of MAUMAU Road Project: Lot 3 (Nyeri Section)Assignments on this project include: °Design and drawing, using AutoCAD Civil 3D software, of various civil engineering works including; i.Vertical and horizontal geometry of the road alignment. ii.Intersections and junctions. iii.Cross and access culverts.°Preparation of setting out and levelling data for all designed elements.°Determination of quantities of earthworks (cut and fill), pavement materials, concrete, and reinforcing steel for various construction elements.

1. KeNHA (A109L) Magongo Road 4Km Dual Carriageway Road project in an urban area.2. KeRRA (D549) Mariakani - Bamba Road repair and maintenance works. Assignments on these projects include:• Supervision of various construction areas including;i. Earthworksii. Laying, levelling and testing of subgrade and pavement layers. • Materials delivery and utilization, measurement and quantification of completed works (earthworks, pavement layers & concrete works) and prepared daily and monthly progress reports.• Assist Project Engineer in updating of project schedules and scheduling of future works. • Assist Project Engineer with Resource and Man Power estimation for various construction tasks.• Geometric design review of the alignments and well as review of pavement layers.• Setting out and pre-levelling for all construction works (bridges, laying of pavement layers, etc.)

Leading a team under the supervision of the company's technical director in a civil engineering materials testing laboratory equipped for the testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, rocks, rebar steel, etc.; As part of the team, duties and achievements included; • The testing of various civil engineering materials including but not limited to: o soils for road fill and pavement layers, for geotechnical investigations of civil engineering structures, and for the manufacture of masonry blocks to determine their mechanical properties and suitability as construction materials. o Aggregates for use in road construction and manufacture of concrete. o Rocks for geotechnical investigations to determine their mechanical properties and suitability for use as masonry stone and also their bearing capacity for construction of foundations on them. o Steel for use as rebars in reinforced concrete and also as anchor bolts in steel structures to determine their mechanical properties such as their tensile strengths and percentage elongation etc. • Conducting geotechnical investigations on sites and performing various in situ tests on soils including but not limited to the vane shear, pocket penetrometer, and dynamic cone penetrometer tests. • Writing of test reports and preparation of geotechnical reports. • Interpretation of laboratory test reports and geotechnical reports for the companies’ clients on demand. • Advising company clients on the suitability of various construction materials with regard to their budgeting needs and strength requirements. • Performing concrete mix designs and also soil blending mix design. • In conjunction with the company's software engineer, worked on setting up a web-based portal system for laboratory tests for automatic calculations and reporting.

As part of the Projects Department. • Coordinated a team to complete installation works of fire door systems to two projects; one office building project in Nairobi CBD area and one apartment block building in Nairobi Kilimani Area.• Manage supply and installation works for various Assa Abloy Group brand products.• Prepare tender and contract documents for bidding on various projects, including, but not limited to bills of quantities, specifications, shop drawings, hardware schedules, etc.• Plan and prepare Project Schedules (Tools used: Primavera and MS Project) while managing such schedules to ensure timely project completion within set out constraints.• Coordinate & Interface between various departments like Engineering (who provided working shop drawings), Procurement, Accounts, warehouse and transport departments. Furthermore, manage interactions with other stakeholders in projects while representing the company to the architects, engineers, main contractors, other subcontractors and clients. This includes managing correspondences, writing requests for inspection and preparation of handover sheets for completed and approved works.• Collecting periodic updates and preparing daily, weekly and monthly updates of the projects.• Plan for budget required for the project and to document and monitor the expenses.• Creating Project Closing Reports.

KURA (M12) Langata-Kibera-Ngong Road 4Km Dual Carriageway Link Road project in an urban area.Assignments on this project included:• Supervision of various construction areas including;i. Earthworksii. Laying, levelling and testing of subgrade and pavement layers, iii. laying of paving slabs, curbs, drainage blocks and construction of culverts.iv. Piling works.v. Reinforced concrete works for bridges, retaining walls, box culverts and pipeline protection structures.• Materials delivery and utilization, measurement and quantification of completed works (earthworks, pavement layers & concrete works) and prepared daily and monthly progress reports.• Assisted Project Manager in updating of project schedules and scheduling of future works on MS Project.• Assisted Project Manager with Resource and Man Power estimation for various construction tasks.• Liaison with the Resident Engineer, managing of correspondences, writing requests for inspection, laboratory testing and survey, following up approvals and keeping a database for requests and approvals.• Laboratory testing of materials (concrete, asphalt materials for base and wearing course, Graded Crushed Stone (GCS), subgrade and fill materials.• Geometric design review of the alignments.• Preparation and checking of Bar Bending Schedules for bridges, box culverts, and other structures.• Setting out and pre-levelling for all construction works (bridges, laying of pavement layers, box culverts, etc.)• Pile load and Integrity tests on pile foundations.• Implementing Environmental Impact Mitigation and Corporate Social Responsibility
