- Wrote, planned, evaluated, and adjusted a rigorous Chemistry and Physical Science Curriculum for 9-12th grade students including full investigative units, standards-based lesson plans, and rigorous assessments with students achieving a 78% pass rate on the end of course exam in the ‘20-’21 academic year- Designed positive behavior incentives, led team and PLC meetings, and implemented grade-level wide cultural incentives as a 10th grade team member in ‘20-’21 academic year- Worked alongside department lead to create a 4 week long cross-curricular, multi disciplinary PBL tackling systemic race and class inequities in the KC metro through the creation of the Undesign the Redline curriculum for our school’s context

I am currently a Secondary focused Manager of Teacher Leadership Development (MTLD) at Teach for America Oklahoma City (TFA-LOKC). This is an incredibly unique role in our region as we are the certifying body for our CMs, so I not only act as their teaching and leadership development coach, but also facilitate professional development sessions for Secondary STEM CMs. I have coached 31 first and second year CMs to data driven classroom outcomes across three different Secondary school sites within Oklahoma City Public Schools and have facilitated over 150 hours of professional development for our region in pedagogy, classroom management, CRP, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

As a Teach for America Oklahoma City Corps Member (2015) I had the incredible opportunity to enter into the classroom that changed the trajectory of my life. I spent my commitment, and time after, in the classroom teaching Physical Science, Environmental Science and AP Environmental Science at Capitol Hill High School on the Southside of Oklahoma City. I had the profound opportunity to expose more than 350 students over three years to the wonders of the world through Science. I was able to not only teach, but also act as the PLC lead for my Physical Science PLC for two years and create the Physical Science curriculum for our school. I was also the varsity head volleyball coach for both the 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 seasons.

Tulsa, Oklahoma Area

After completing my TFA commitment, I returned to our National Summer Institute in Tulsa as a Teacher Education Adviser (TEA) for the incoming corps members (CMs) coming for their summer institute training. In this role I coached 18 new CMs in my Algebra I and II cohort as they taught in Tulsa Public Schools summer school program. I took on both an instructional coaching and leadership development role where I reviewed their lesson plans, coached through daily observation-debrief cycles, monitored growth and goal development as well as co-facilitating daily professional development seminars to prepare these new teachers for their placement regions in the Fall.
