About Brianne Steffensmeier

With over nine years of work experience in education, I am passionate about developing STEM teachers and leaders who can inspire and empower students from diverse backgrounds and communities. I have a Masters of Education in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Oklahoma, and I am skilled in strategic communications, strategic leadership, and change management. I currently work as a STEM Instructional Coach at Crossroads Charter Schools of Kansas City, a public charter school network that provides high-quality, personalized education to urban students.In my role as a STEM Instructional Coach (both currently and in a past coaching role), I support and coach 15 STEM teachers across three campuses, providing feedback, guidance, and resources to improve their instructional practices and student outcomes. I also design and facilitate professional development sessions on topics such as STEM pedagogy, inquiry-based learning, data analysis, and differentiation. Additionally, I collaborate with other instructional coaches and school leaders to ensure alignment and coherence of the STEM curriculum and assessment across the network. Previously, I was a Chemistry and Physics Teacher at Crossroads Charter Schools, where I created and implemented a rigorous and engaging STEM curriculum that integrated project-based learning and social justice.
