General duties include answering phones, taking messages and making sure they get to the appropriate person, keeping supplies stocked, daily paperwork and opening and closing the cash drawer. I also play a big part in making sure the store runs smoothly. I do my best to handle as much of the customer service that I can. When the customer has an issue with their furniture, I am the point of contact between them and the manufacturer, everything from checking parts are available, ordering the correct parts, keeping track of how long it takes for the part to arrive, notifying the customer of the arrival of their parts, scheduling with the furniture repair company. Managing the flow of paper work and the customers experience is a significant part of my job. From the point of the sale, it is important to have signatures, prices and necessary information printed on paper work, making sure orders that need to be inspected and processed for delivery, notifying customers of furniture arrival (perfect condition or damaged), corresponding with the delivery company to ensure orders are pulled in a timely and effective manner. If furniture comes in damaged beyond repair it is my job to make sure we receive credit from the manufacture to cover the cost of a replacement, and the correct paperwork (donation receipt or photo of the piece destroyed) is submitted in a timely manner.
