I evaluated emissions from stagnant basins and performed QA/QC analysis of statistical data assessment of air contaminant concentration in wastewater data. Prepared documentation for the affected site to submit the required updated information to state regulatory authority.- Supported stack testing for multiple control devices. Evaluated appropriate testing methodologies for the types of pollutants generated and desired results, evaluated numerical emission rates and resulting calculated control efficiency. Reviewed and approved several reports from testing firms. Used results of stack testing to evaluate production capacities and set internal limits to ensure compliance. - Provided technical guidance on calculation of air contaminant emission rates to chemical process design team for a new build chemical process operation. Ensured that the most appropriate method for calculation was used for emission rate estimates and conducted QA/QC evaluation of calculations performed.- Led troubleshooting efforts to characterize and quantify a specific air contaminant from a source that were previously unknown to have been emitted from the source. This reevaluation of the emissions also resulted in evaluating applicable regulatory programs for the furnace considering the change in emission levels of HAP. - Evaluated new chemical substances developed for the lighting industry for US EPA pre-manufacture requirements, and personally performed US specific pre-manufacture notification requirements and evaluation of import and export requirements in numerous countries.- Identified that the area source chemical manufacturing regulation (40 CFR Part 63, Subpart VVVVVV) was applicable to a facility in US. Evaluated chemical-specific material throughput and emissions to atmosphere to determine applicability of regulation. Evaluated efficacy of pollution control requirements, oversaw procurement and installation of improved equipment. Developed compliance program requirements, record keeping and notifications.- Prepared technical documents to demonstrate to Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection that Methyl Bromide (an ODS) use in halogen lamp manufacture is not subject to Montreal Protocol phase out requirements. Responsible for development of coating application process, process parameters (coating thickness, etc.), validation testing of aluminide coating diffusion, preparation of procedures for process execution.-Drove justification of implementing gas turbine repair technology that was wax based and lower risk than an alternative which would have emitted HCl fumes to atmosphere.-Led group troubleshooting ineffective air pollution control device (air/liquid scrubber) on an acid stripping operation. Identified causal factors and drove implementation of corrective actions including changing neutralizing base, establishing updated equipment, procedures and processes to correct issues and have effective scrubbing and air pollution control.
