My role involved coordinating the work of a group of independent Senators in the upper house of Ireland's parliament. Responsibilities included:• scrutinising legislation; • writing amendments to Bills; • writing Private Member's Bills; • writing speeches and speaking notes; • writing reports and briefing papers; • liaising with stakeholders and Government officials; • planning political strategy; • coordinating with political allies; • writing press releases and media articles; • managing group social media, and creating social media assets and graphics; • coordinating with four other offices to plan meetings, briefings and group events.

I worked as a research assistant for professors in the politics department, on a project which analysed the flow of development aid money to media projects in various countries. Responsibilities:•Used data science techniques in the R programming language to assist with research on media aid flows. •Summarised data using the dplyr R package, highlighting trends by donor country, recipient country, and type of aid.•Compiled detailed country-specific reports to examine the donor and aid profiles for a given country.

I became self-employed as a freelance journalist for a host of major international publications, while I was still an undergraduate student. Details and highlights: • Wrote features in the Guardian, the Independent, the Irish Times, i-D magazine, Dazed, the Irish Examiner, and more. • Featured occasionally in the Telegraph, Paper Magazine, them.us (Conde Nast) and more. • Cultivated relationships with a network of editors at publications across the UK, Ireland & US. • Pitched original ideas to editors, developed ideas in tandem with editors, then worked to bring finalised ideas to publication.• Researched extensively, conducted in-person and phone interviews, and gathered expert testimony. • Filed completed pieces to deadline and worked closely with editors to finalise pieces for print.

• Creating and teaching university level Global Economics course to academically gifted teenage students on the Centre for Talented Youth Ireland summer program. • After the CTYI summer program was cancelled due to COVID-19, all classes were reassigned to online zoom classes. I researched and devised the course curriculum myself, set assignments, and taught the class via Zoom.

• Assistant co-ordinator of the residential summer program for the Centre for Talented Youth• First hired as Residential Assistant (RA) in 2017. • Promoted to Assistant Residential Co-ordinator (ARC), worked in this role in 2018 & 2019. Duties included: • managing a team of 20+ RAs; • being responsible for wellbeing of 500+ students across various courses; • filing daily reports and keeping up with administrative duties of the course;• handling petty cash spreadsheets and booking weekend activities; •dealing directly with disciplinary issues as well as catering to behavioural and emotional needs of students.

• Worked as full-time F&B assistant across multiple hotel departments, including restaurant, bar, and events department. • Worked with large teams to ensure that busy breakfast, lunch and dinner services were delivered with four-star standard of service. • Worked with large teams to set up multiple simultaneous events across the hotel, including business meetings, conferences, and weddings. • Won Employee of the Month for excellent performance. • Was promoted to head waiter for weddings, where I was directly responsible for attending to the needs of the bridal party.
