At DataBank (one of the largest colocation providers in the U.S.), I oversaw cloud solutions architecture, engineering team, and managed services delivery for many large companies, inclusive of VMware servers/warranties, storage/backup solutions, and disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS). I managed P&L and oversaw a 19-member, remote team of directors, managers, and engineers located nationwide.I’m proud of my role in integrating operations following a major acquisition, building a cohesive team, and stabilizing the IT environment.➨ 𝗠&𝗔: Led integration of teams, systems, processes, and data center assets following DataBank’s acquisition of zColo, Zayo Group’s colocation and MSP division. ➨ 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱: Improved system reliability and reversed a history of outages at a fraction of the projected repair costs.➨ 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: Built and managed a productive team of engineers responsible for maintaining over 20,000 servers and 2 petabytes (PB) of business-critical data.

For this leading cloud application services provider, I rescued stalled IT initiatives and was promoted a year later to oversee the entire product and engineering operations. I supervised 13 cloud, backup, storage, and network ops staff serving 1,000+ customers.➨ 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲: Created specialized roles and instilled accountability for both individual and team performance. Cut backup failure rate in half, enhanced CX, and created a winning work culture.➨ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱: Took over management of Contegix Agility Bundle project. Developed and executed plan that led to project completion and enabled delivery of automated deployment solutions. This initiative was one of the company’s greatest successes in 2018.➨ 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀: Developed and launched new DRaaS product (creating a new profit center) and led design of a Drupal deployment engine (allowing Contegix to compete in the Drupal market space).

During my tenure at Hosting, I made significant contributions overseeing the development of cloud applications and products with a focus on security, availability, reliability, and scalability. ➨ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁, 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 & 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀: Transformed DRaaS solution into a 6-figure revenue generator and flagship product, decreased system outages, and improved financial forecasting.➨ 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Top Performer (2 years), President’s Club, Service Defined Award Winners, and Service Award.

• Virtualization: Increased virtualization from zero to 94%. Convinced executive team of the value of a VM environment; built lab and presented the idea that achieved 100% buy-in. Virtualization improved time to market, decreasing new infrastructure setup time from months to hours while improving performance and availability.• Solutions Engineering: Improved outage response times by implementing a monitoring solution that alerted teams about outage events. Also implemented a patch management system that decreased downtime and security risks.
