I was honored to be appointed a Vice President and General Manager at Amgen in October 2019 after 20 years in the biotech industry. I've led teams across therapeutic areas, but particularly in hematology and oncology in the United States, Canada, and Latin America.I joined Amgen to help treat serious illness with innovative medicine. I believe that public and private stakeholders can come together to measure health, implement solutions to predict and prevent negative outcomes, streamline regulatory frameworks, and reduce barriers so that patients can access the medicines they need. From my perspective, we need a more resilient healthcare system that promotes research and development, provides predictability for manufacturers, incentivizes innovation, and provides access to novel therapies. This is critical so people can stay out of hospitals and enjoy better health.I believe that loving a purpose and loving those you lead are two critical attributes of great leadership. Obsession for a purpose brings vision, perspective, personal integrity, innovation, courage, and agility. Care for those you lead brings an ability to influence, to motivate and inspire, and to develop talent with trust, transparency, and authenticity. Curiosity helps too!I am absolutely obsessed with Amgen's mission to serve patients, and I am so excited to work alongside great talent in my company and across my industry. I'm determined to learn how we can improve health in meaningful ways together.I live in Southern California with my family. We have 5 kids and 2 dogs! Outside of work, I like to run, bike, swim, and do triathlons.
