Profile bio

About Brian Forder

After deciding to change my career direction I spent six years studying towards an Open University degree in Environmental Studies in which I gained a 2.1. I took the decision to study Environmental Studies as it is a field which I am very passionate about, to gain the opportunity to improve my skill set and open up new career opportunities. Within my degree I chose to specialise in renewable energy, incorporating the study of different energy options, weighing these options against fossil fuel use and the implementation of new renewable energy schemes. After completing my degree I joined Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust as a Waste Management Support Officer. This role allowed me to gain knowledge on auditing waste within GP and Hospital sites, train colleagues on waste management procedures and assist colleagues on our busy helpdesk. After eight months in this role I was asked to take on the role of Waste Manager. This role saw me leading a team of people based on two sites, one in Kent and one in Sussex. The main part of this role was the Management of waste and environmental service contracts including TWM, Grounds & Gardens, Window Cleaning and Pest Control for NHS properties across Kent, Surrey & Sussex; with a combined contract value over £4 million per annum. I also had the responsibility of overseeing our busy helpdesk which took in excess of 1850 queries a year. As well as studying, I have had extensive experience within the finance sector at different levels over a number of years. In my most recent position I was seconded to the role of Branch Manager for the Co-operative Bank in Sevenoaks. As part of the Co-op Bank’s transformation programme, Sevenoaks branch was one of the branches which was closed, leading to the removal of the roles within the branch. This last role saw me taking responsibility for the branch during this vital closure period.

Listed skills include Project Management, Project Delivery, Stakeholder Management, Project Planning, and 25 others.
