I was born on Vancouver Island and for almost all of my life I have lived on Pacific Islands (Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii and Honshu Japan). I did have relatively brief stays on the mainland to attend the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Early in my career I was very fortunate to land a position at MacMillan Bloedel's Chemainus Sawmill. In nearly every aspect of business management this facility was absolutely at the top of the heap. The coaching and mentoring I received from my colleagues was amazing. My six years there provided a solid foundation to build my career on. Seeking adventure at work and in our home life, we moved to Haida Gwaii to work in MacMillan Bloedel's Crown Land woodlands operation for six years. (And what an adventure it was!) Then it was back to Vancouver Island to work on Private Forest lands for Weyerhaeuser and later for Island Timberlands. In 2012 I founded my own consultancy (White Raven Innovations Ltd.) to provide services to the Forest Industry. Much of this was related to IT services to assist businesses with the integration of mobile devices into their information management systems. I also continued to provide services related to forest land management. It was during this time that I recognized that there was a need for a better way for field personnel to carry mobile devices and other mission critical field equipment. At that time I founded "Tablet EX Gear" to develop a complete carry system. In 2020 I stopped providing consulting services to allow me to focus on growing our Tablet EX Gear business.In my role with Tablet EX Gear I have developed skills in Industrial Design, Videography, Sales and Marketing. I love the diverse challenges that come with managing the growth of this business!
