Lead a talented 40+ person team of managers, developers, and QA engineers that drive Thomson Reuters Elektron API and Protocol design, implementation, and support. The team is distributed across the globe and is responsible for delivery of many internal and external customer facing products and network protocols including Elektron SDK (EMA, ETA), TREP Web Socket API (JSON protocol, web socket transport), TRIS (IDS, ANS, EWA, TRIS Mobile), TRKD API and web services infrastructure, RFA, SFC, OMM/RWF, OMM/TRWF, and OMM/JSON. Core responsibilities include talent management and career development, performance assesments, compensation planning, project management across multiple simultaneous projects, prioritization and resourcing of various work streams and initiatives, engagement with finance, business and product teams to ensure alignment across business units and strategic direction. Managing an Agile Scrum team, developing low level, high performance transport layer APIs and efficient protocol encoder-decoder APIs. Working alongside the team to design, build, maintain, and review our products that cross multiple operating systems (Linux, Solaris, and Windows), processor architectures, and programming languages (C, C++, Java, C#.NET). Blended two teams, one C/C++ and the other Java, into a single unified team. Coached and encouraged the team to knowledge share and take the time to build up expertise in alternate languages.
