The mission applied advanced remote sensing technology, including ESSI’s PROBE-1, in Kazakhstan. I negotiated several of the Company’s key agreements including one with Noranda, a major international mining company, where Noranda invested $1 million in ESSI preferred stock, agreed to pay ESSI to provide Noranda with exclusive services for mineral exploration, and granted ESSI a royalty interest in deposits that were discovered as a result of using the technology. This was the first agreement where a major mining company granted a royalty interest in a deposit to a service provider in addition to paying a fee for service.
