I have been a licensed physical therapist for 27 years with an emphasis on sports medicine. Since 1998, I have been working with athletes and the general population on injury prevention, injury recovery, sports performance and overall wellness. I am the owner of Spark Physical Therapy & Performance, a private outpatient sports medicine clinic in Raleigh. I have also served as a PT consultant for the NHL Carolina Hurricanes.From 2003 - 2006, I served as the strength and conditioning coach for The Columbus Crew Major League Soccer Team. I have presented at professional conferences on topics such as ACL injury prevention, low back training, functional training, shoulder specific training, baseball conditioning, prehab and rehab and sport specific conditioning.I have authored and self published the following manuals: The Ultimate Rotator Cuff Training Guide, The Ultimate Frozen Shoulder Therapy Guide, Protecting the Athlete's Knee and Healthy Golf Shoulders. In addition, I have created knee DVDs dealing with osteoarthritis, ACL injury prevention and running.Currently, I publish an online column, 'Functionally Fit', for Personal Fitness Professional Magazine (www.fit-pro.com).
