With 30 years of experience in transportation engineering in both the public and private sectors, I have worked in virtually all phases of project development, including preliminary design, final design, and construction of traffic management and communication systems. My experience also includes technical evaluation, communications and requirements definition, ITS architecture, system design, and system integration for ITS projects. I have focused much of my career towards safety and mobility in the design, deployment and operations of traffic management and traveler information systems, involving the four “Es” of highway safety: Engineering, Education, Enforcement and Emergency Services.
