They know how to make an impact and be that valuable insurance policy that businesses depend on. I believe in transcending this by showing the true value IT can be by taking a servant’s heart approach. To be an active listener when users are frustrated. Possess a strong desire to mentor others. Employ the ability to lead in times of crisis, and to exceed the pace of business growth, not just keep up with it. To be a bridge between business initiatives and secure, effective solutions, instead of a roadblock. To be a voice of “Yes, we can do that” because an IT department doesn’t drive business culture, business culture drives IT.ABOUT ME:I started my career right out of college to work for a major, nationwide call center during their Christmas Peak season. My plan was to gain valuable hardware, server, network, and application support that would help my in my future plans, computer programming. After three months, I received my first programming opportunity as a COBOL developer, and I turned the job down. I was completely in love and found my niche as a Network System Administrator. The lessons I learned from day one regarding customer service and how the Golden Rule is to be applied to business, helped define the IT Professional I am today. Throughout my career, I have held positions from Tier 1 Hardware/Desktop support, Server Administration focusing on UNIX and Windows systems, to Network and IT Department Manager. I never miss an opportunity to utilize my coding and programming skills to automate and manage a network environment. MY CURRENT FOCUSED INTERESTS:I am passionate about automating, creating tools, and scripting processes that help others perform day to day functions more effectively. A huge fan of PowerShell, I am always looking for creative ways to manage the resources on the network.I love virtualization. I have many years of experience with VMware Vsphere, Vcenter, ESXi. I really enjoy using PowerCli to manage hosts and vms.Anything that has a command-line associated with it: Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls (Fortigate is my favorite), NetAPP storage appliances.
