Led a successful IT services and consulting business, providing full support to SMB clients in security, networking, servers, VoIP, and cloud services.

Directed a team of up to 12 consultants focused on implementation, on-going support and maintenance of Microsoft infrastructure, Dynamics GP and Dynamics CRM software for small and mid-sized businesses.Consulted directly with clients to plan, design, deploy and maintain critical technology infrastructure systems for a wide range of businesses including non-profits, distributors, healthcare providers and professional services firms.

Headed a team of system engineers responsible for the company’s voice and data networks. Environment included Windows and UNIX based servers, LAN and WAN connections using dedicated T1 circuits and VPNs; Windows, Macintosh, Solaris and DOS based clients; applications running on several platforms including Microsoft SQL Server, Internet Information Server and Exchange Server; iPlanet Web Server and Portal Server; as well as an off-site hosted application delivered via the internet and integrated using XML data streams. Implemented several critical systems improving the usability and functionality of the corporate network. Projects included the deployment of a new corporate intranet and extranet, an enterprise class data backup system, a server-based network model utilizing Citrix Metaframe technology and a wide-area network deployment using Checkpoint Firewall-1 and VPN-1 allowing secure and controlled access to the environment worldwide.

Served as the primary technical consultant for one of the nation's largest Great Plains Software channel partners, earning the “Rookie of the Year” award for providing exemplary support and service to their clients. Responsible for the installation and configuration of new accounting software deployments, as well as the upgrades and maintenance on existing systems. Installed and maintained systems on both Windows NT and Novell based networks running various databases including Ctree, Btrieve, Faircom Server, Pervasive SQL and Microsoft SQL Server. Migrated data into the Great Plains database to ensure new clients the ability to retain data from their legacy accounting systems. Created and delivered client specific custom reports utilizing reporting tools such as the Great Plains Report Writer, FRx Financial Reporting, Crystal Reports and Microsoft Access. Developed and deployed integrations and customizations to the Great Plains solution utilizing the Great Plains Integration Manager as well as Microsoft Access and SQL Server.

Implemented a multi-location point of sale system with integration into a back office accounting package. Maintained corporate accounting system and software. Supervised employees of multiple quick-service restaurants. Implemented and managed quality control measures for food preparation and service. Monitored cost margins to maintain profitability of start-up restaurant chain.

Ran accounting department and reported directly to the CFO. Prepared and delivered weekly payroll and filed all necessary state and federal wage reports as required for federally funded highway construction projects. Tracked cost information against related budgets to prepare accurate cost analysis, percentage of completion and project profit/loss reports. Recorded line item level costing information on a daily basis for multiple large-scale highway projects. Designed and deployed the company's first computer network. Implemented a character-based, industry specific cost accounting software program. Migrated accounting data from legacy application into new software retaining historical information.

Responsible for the preparation and filing of all required financial reports for a publicly traded company to the Securities and Exchange Commission, NASDAQ and to its shareholders. Prepared sales forecasts, budgets, and departmental financial statements for review by the company's senior officers and directors. Directed department managers on all activities of the company and its subsidiaries; a vacation company specializing in houseboat sales on Lake Powell in Arizona and Utah, a marina management company with property located in Florida and a powerboat manufacturer based in Tennessee.
