2000 - Fall 2013 — Oversee & perform functions of entire art department including management of department employees. Design & layout, files for production of film, etc. and wide format digital done in house as well as offset and digital projects produced off site. Perform and maintain G7 calibration of all equipment. Maintain all equipment including all machine repair and all computer, server and department networking. Created company website and was responsible for bringing film production in house. Anything and everything.Fall 2013 on — Opportunities arose allowing me the option to expand my knowledge base and in late 2013 I became the department manager for our large format digital printing and router cutting operation within Nordec Inc. This includes the purchase of a Vutek GS2000lx large format digital UV printer as well as a Multicam Digital Express router and the addition of two more employees within my supervision. Extensive offsite manufacturer training and the need to personally use the equipment and train the employees hired to run it full time have extended my experience. My daily duties include department supervision and employee management, scheduling, QC, color calibration, matching and material profiling as well as prepress file handling and manipulation. I enjoy directly dealing with our sales force and customer base answering questions about our capabilities and recommending new ideas and processes for their projects. My abilities, responsibilities and experience continue to expand and I have grown greatly from the experience while continuing to strive to expand my knowledge of the industry every day.

I grew up in the printing industry and learned a multitude of different things while doing so. I worked here in my father's business through high school and college during breaks and full time in the summer and after graduation from college for a year or so. During my time here I did pretty much everything from hand stripping and color separation, plate making, running a press, all of the finishing equipment, counter, deliveries, setting type on the first Macintosh computers, etc. Little did I know I'd be building a solid foundation for what has turned out to be a lifelong career.
