Set up prison commissary for Keefe (part of Enterprise). Hired 50 plus part time and 5 full time employees at Cook County Jail (3rd largest in US), Chicago, IL. Electronic orders submitted to St. Louis on Wednesdays and orders received Fridays for delivery to inmates from Friday evening through Sunday evening.

I started as a correctional officer (4 months, Milan, MI. Promoted to Commissary Assistant and then Commissary Supervisor (approximately 18 months). Promoted to Relief Clerk (approximately 1 year), Lompoc, CA. Promoted to Commissary Accountant at Bureau headquarters in Washington DC (approximately 18 months). Promoted to Assistant Business Manager (approximately 4 years) El Reno, OK. Lateral move to Lake Placid, NY to open new Federal Prison following 1980 Winter Olympics. Promoted to Business manager to open new Federal Prison in Phoenix, AZ (21 months). Voluntary transfer to Springfield, MO (Federal Prison Hospital) for the balance of my career, functioning as Supervisory Accounting Supervisor and finally as Supervisory Contract Specialist. Participated in numerous audits of other Federal Prison business offices, gave annual classes in procurement, and selected as an EEO Investigator.
