In my experience, both parental and community involvement are essential to a successful classroom and school environment. It is my belief that students should be given the opportunity to develop into lifelong learners through a balanced education that addresses the needs of the individual as well as the group, across the curricular mosaic. These same guiding principles create a productive and prolific school experience for every student when applied at the building level. My philosophy is that a student should be fostered academically, socially, athletically, and civically during their tenure in school and I believe that this is a core mission in every school district.Throughout my teaching career I have assumed many leadership roles. I was honored to be elected as the teacher liaison to our school safety committee and provide them with insights of current trends in school safety. As a Physical Education teacher at Jefferson Township High School I enjoy serving as the subject level representative to our curricular teams and working to develop curriculum that meets and enhances the Common Core Standards. Furthermore, I am a member of the scheduling committee, SCIP committee and chairperson of the Athletic Advisory Council.My resume contains additional information about my teaching experience, my leadership profile, and my skills as a collegial member of an educational community.
