► Selected to lead the Environmental Characterization Section with oversight of 8-15 scientists and engineers. Based on performance in this role, nominated and completed SAIC’s nationwide training program for the advancement of internal leaders. ► As lead project geologist, designed a multi-technique remote-sensing approach for investigation of groundwater contaminant flow in the fractured rock aquifer beneath Anniston Army Depot. On behalf of client, communicated the results in oral presentations to the technical team consisting of US Army, federal, and state environmental staff. Authored several multi-volume remedial investigation reports with review and approval by USEPA, ADEM, and US Army Corps of Engineers. ► As a project manager, successfully executed multiple fixed price task orders for the US Army Fort Knox environmental program, including Phase I/II RFIs and CMSs. In compliance with RCRA and KDEP regulatory guidance, guided Army client on UXO remediation by using a ‘white paper’ approach for alternatives. ► Completed a site wide dye tracer study in a complex karst geology aquifer as a component of a Ft. Knox groundwater flow evaluation, resulting in exceeded client expectations. Results published in a recognized professional journal.► Developed basic leadership skills as a Section Manager by assisting staff in career development, monitoring staff utilization and assignments, and conducting routine staff meetings. Other duties included staff recruiting, hiring, and mentoring.► As a staff geologist, assisted in the early design of the groundwater monitoring program for an Oak Ridge (TN) DOE site requiring a large-scale dye tracer test that successfully identified a subsurface groundwater flow path from waste burial ground to previously unidentified spring.
