Responsible for supporting vendor supplied and in-house developed, VTAM based, network access products, session managers including the Network IT (Solve) suite of products, in a large scale, IBM environment. Responsibilities included the installation and testing of vendor products and tailoring them to installation specifications, applying product upgrades and software fixes, modifying vendor supplied exits and in-house code, monitoring performance, troubleshooting and acting as a liaison with vendors and internal customers. Responsible for IBM MQ Series administration, including the definition of queue managers, queues, channels, processes and other resources on NT, OS/390 and AIX platforms . Responsibilities also included monitoring MQ series performance, tuning and troubleshooting.Served as team lead in the Network Peripheral Application Support area, which included support of network access products, file transfer (Connect:Direct & FTP), session managers and MQ Series. Conducted project planning meetings and provided written and verbal performance evaluations of staff. Served as as departmental information security coordinator, problem tracking and change control.Developed and implemented disaster recovery procedures and testing methods for supported products, ensuring prompt recovery of applications in the event of a disaster. Performed security risk assessment for application data and removed non-essential, sensitive user information.Wrote test plans, developed test cases and performed QA on in-house written and vendor supplied software.Served as level 3 support for call center, resolving ongoing customer network access issues, reducing down time for individual users. Staffed level 2 call center on a rotating basis. Member of Passwords Standards Committee. Worked to develop and implement stringent, enterprise-wide password standards, to reduce the possibility of unauthorized network access.
