As a Substation Civil/Structural Engineer, I am currently supporting substation upgrade and rebuild projects throughout South New Jersey. I am responsible in managing the structural portion of the project from start to finish.

Management Experience- Supervision of eight (8) engineer staff assigned to Westinghouse AP1000 installation at the VC Summer Unit 2 and 3 Nuclear Power plant. Supervision and mentoring of the module structural engineers and designers. Coordination of multi-company engineering design issues and projects between disciplines, client interfaces, and regulatory agencies (NRC). Addressed licensing issues with the NRC. Managed engineering change documents and nonconformance documents related to design and calculations to support for construction needs- Assigning work and managing engineering resource to meet construction needs- Mentored new engineers with design documents and ACI, AISC, AWS, ASME codesTechnical Experience- Prepared detail engineering responses including calculations and sketches in addressing design issues, construction issues, and coordination with construction and interfacing with other engineering disciplines and departments regarding structural module, reinforced concrete structures (base mat and walls) and steel embedment. Calculation modification includes modifying the ANSYS model for as-built conditions.- Responding to design questions from NRC and SCANA. - Prepared numerous design modifications to validate the field changes.- Resolved construction issues with Engineering Design Change documents (E&DCRs) and Non-Conforming documents.- Prepared and reviewed design documents for implementation in the field, while also maintaining construction support for Fluor Construction. Aid in redesigning structures in order to keep construction progress moving while following US codes (ACI 349-01, N690, AWS) and Westinghouse/Flour procedures for non-conforming conditions.- Provided response to Licensing related issues to support the License Amendment Request (LAR)- Resolved modules construction and design issues with N&Ds E&DCRs and RFIs

AP1000 - Project Westinghouse Site Design Engineer supporting Construction

Exelon Nuclear, (LaSalle, Clinton, Dresden, Quad Cities, Byron, and Braidwood Station)Building Structural Inspection for Dresden Station.Design of security barriers, observation structures, and surveillance monitors for the security upgrades at Nuclear Power plants for Force-on-Force (FOF) and 10 CFR 73.55 requirements.Fuel Handling Building floor load evaluation for equipment staging.Calculation for the support of ISO-Phase Bus Duct using STAAD (finite element program). This calculation evaluates the design for supports, and mounts with seismic analysis. Prepared the Fire Hazard Analysis Calculation and Report for the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) projects.Prepared the Load Drop Analysis for the Turbine Building Crane (Crane Test weight 125 tons) and evaluated the haul path for the shield walls transferred to the Turbine Building Deck.Supervised the plate load test (soil strength testing) and the concrete strength test for the ISFSI Pad construction in accordance with ACI requirements and project specifications. Designed the mounting of the RCMS Control Room Monitor with seismic analysis. Designed platforms, foundations, camera tower foundations, and pipe supports. Moderate experience in STAAD-Pro, SAP2000 and A-Plan (Finite Element program used at Exelon). Responsible Engineer for Engineering Change (EC) packages.
