Building on a successful career providing Director and Board-level support across change and business improvement Brian is now prioritising NED and Trustee roles.A specialist in delivering business objectives through transformational change and sound programme management he has successfully managed and implemented major business change and cost-saving initiatives in health, social care and central government. He has been at the forefront of change in the NHS and central government for over 20 years. He pioneered IT system developments in commissioning and contracting to support the NHS reforms of the 1990s and devised the first formal information governance protocols around sharing patient data. He co-developed and implemented the “Positively Diverse” change management methodology which was widely adopted by the NHS and DH in the early 2000s. Having a “big 4” consultancy background he has worked successfully with a range of public and private sector clients at all levels, providing strategic guidance through to operational support. Most recently he has supported health and social care clients in finding new ways to reduce costs and leverage improvements in efficiency and productivity. This has included reviewing and improving workflows and commissioning capability, dataset development, defining quality standards and evaluating how telehealth, telecare, and mobile data capture can improve community services delivery. A keen advocate of professional programme management, he has applied innovative techniques, including agile and earned-value, to more traditional approaches such as PRINCE2 and MSP.
