Co-founder and long-time President of EVkids (EVkids, Inc., formerly Earthen Vessels, Inc.), a 501(c)(3) organization working with inner-city kids (see our web site: http://evkids.org). My wife and I co-directed EVkids' summer camp in Vermont for 34 years. Taught French language and literature at the university for 41 years. Produce and host a radio show on music from the French-speaking world, "French Toast", on MIT radio (http://wmbr.org). Photographer and videographer. Former cable TV producer. President of the American Association of Teachers of French for Eastern Massachusetts, for whom I manage the website (http://www.aatf-easternmass.org/). I lead a French-language reading group, meeting for many years at Schœnhof's in Harvard Square, but now at Harvard's Comparative Literature Department in Dana Palmer House. Occasionally play architect, carpenter, cabinetmaker, plumber, electrician, as needs arise. Though retired, I continue to be active on half a dozen fronts: concerts with visiting French singers, an English-language bibliography on French writer André Malraux, English subtitles for a film on Malraux and Asia, a recent book chapter on the Quebec/Europe connection in French-language song, renovating the kitchen at both of my sons' houses, translating a book into French...
