I'm using data science to unlock value in Dell's Global Professional Services organization. I currently lead a technical specialist team working on the Project Velocity Alerting System, or PVAS. PVAS is cutting down the time it takes for Dell's customers to receive their deployments and is only possible because of a multi-tool data pipeline involving CRMs, SQL databases, Airflow, a large Python codebase, and email automation. The project has already earned the group Game Changer awards and sends out hundreds of alerts a day around the world. My scope in leading PVAS has expanded as quickly as PVAS has itself - we now have dozens of alerts running for multiple frontline roles, both ISG and CSG, Deploy and Consult, and automatic escalations all the way up to VPs. With so many alerts on so many different processes, I have to engage with every group in GPS and bring them into the conversation. That means I facilitate impactful discussions that result in standardized policies, tickets filed for automation, and new opportunities for our operations and analytics team to follow up on. I also work with the broader org on data science initiatives, like educating teams on the benefits of machine learning, sourcing new data science projects, and interviewing and mentoring interns and newly hired data scientists.Promoted from Senior Data Science Analyst.

Thrashimation, LLC (a combination of my last name “Thrasher” and “animation”) is a comedy music and animation business I founded with my older brother during the last two years I attended high school. In that time, we managed to get over 18,000 views on YouTube and sell our music on iTunes. We impressed some New York comedians to the point of promoting us on their television and radio shows. We've also been featured on comedy-songs.com! I wear many hats in Thrashimation: lyricist, producer, director, animator, editor, lip-syncher, and marketer. Currently, the Thrashimation YouTube channel is on hiatus.

As an intern at a small business alliance, I connected StayLocal to its business members. My first tool for outreach was social media, and I spent the majority of my time running StayLocal's social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. StayLocal released a new report based on an annual survey it conducts of New Orleans business owners, and I created a month-long social media campaign to promote the report. This campaign included a video I produced that caused a spike in impressions (5500+) across the different platforms (see attached video).I also spent my time editing Shopkeeper Stories, a monthly series StayLocal produces for the Uptown Messenger. Shopkeeper Stories are interviews with business owners negatively affected by road construction. I've dabbled in all stages of the process, but I mostly focused on condensing the interviews and editing for readability.

Each summer, I work on a variety of freelance writing projects. I've written dozens of blogs, articles, and press releases for professionals across diverse industries, such as law, commerce, tourism, insurance, and even lightsaber manufacturing. Most pieces are research-based and informative, but some are more openly persuasive. I've learned how to optimize the metadata (titles, tags, and keywords) for search engines while still writing text that's appealing to readers.

I was responsible for keeping the discussion organized, moderating the content, and approving files according to the IBO guidelines, as well as giving advice to current students in the prestigious International Baccalaureate Program.

After months of consulting, I was invited to join the FailUp Executive Board - the only freshman on a board comprised mostly of seniors. As a board member, I helped develop FailUp's strategy for expanding to other colleges and acquiring new users. FailUp's mission was to create a community of entrepreneurs and aid them in starting their businesses, and it was my job to cultivate that community.My role also included varied jobs whenever FailUp hosted events; for example, I was responsible for recording interviews with competitors at a FailUp pitch competition.

As the Startup Venture Creative Consultant for FailUp, I was responsible for advising both FailUp's dozens of clients as well as the executives at FailUp themselves. I gave insight to businesses at all stages in development, from idea until launched. My suggestions ranged from pointing out logistical problems with a potential venture to giving marketing advice and potential slogans. My work helped two businesses win pitch competitions and $1,000 of funding each.
