As a Red Seal certified Millwright and Red Seal certified A Level Welder, with many years of experience installing, repairing, maintaining and fabricating various equipment and parts, and a proud history of success leading and developing trades people. I have also been working as an IRATA Rope access Technician over the last 3 years in conjunction with my trades training and experience. I have worked as a Millwright and Welder in both a hands-on and Supervisor capacity, for a wide range of industries, including light and heavy industrial manufacturing, pulp and paper, hydro-electric, mining, oil and gas - oftentimes in the face of harsh conditions and challenging environments.During my career, I had the opportunity to lead, train, coach and mentor a large team of skilled trades people for one of the world's largest mining companies, Barrick Gold Corp., at the Dominican Republic mine site. Despite the numerous challenges such as a language barrier and under-performing facility, I drove many successful improvements, such as: Saved as much as $300K per month by spearheading an initiative to take over the welding and fabrication of numerous types of equipment and parts rather than continuing to use outside contractors. Streamlined and organized documentation that allowed Supervisors to utilize crews more efficiently and track man hours per project which improved cost estimates and expense control.
