Led enterprise strategy post LBO through successful recapitalization following growth from serving 30,000 to serving 50,000 people. Developed integrated care capabilities for dual eligibles including investing in primary care, dental, behavioral health and care management focused on serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Rebranded company from The MENTOR Network to Sevita to better convey the tremendous work being done to support everyone’s right to live well.

Led payor and provider contracting across OptumCare medical groups (including the integration of Davita Medical Group / Healthcare Partners), SCA and MedExpress. Responsible for growth in number of Medicare Advantage lives with UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Anthem, Aetna and other payor partners. Developed commercial contracting strategy to enable physicians to deliver value based care across all lines of business.Built new service line team to enable each OptumCare market to develop value oriented ancillary service lines including oncology, radiology, pharmacy, etc.Led development of the OptumCare strategy and ongoing market level strategic planning process. Represented OptumHealth in the creation of the Optum Enterprise Strategy and served on the steering committee for the UnitedHealth Group Enterprise Healthcare Value work.

Led payor contracting, M&A and physician recruitment teams with responsibility for positioning SCA to grow through value based agreements, executing on M&A in those markets and recruiting physicians to deliver high value care in those partnerships.

Led the ASC industry by getting greater than 50% of SCA contracted partnerships in value based agreements including several national payor contracts. Accelerated the migration of total joints, spine and cardiovascular cases to the preferred environment of surgeons and patients. Advanced partnerships with major risk bearing medical groups (e.g., Optum, Healthcare Partners, VillageMD, and Agilon Health).

Built diversified payor contracting team with deep experience working for health plans and doing ASC contracting. Repositioned outpatient surgery with executive teams at major health plans as one of the most strategic levers in countering healthcare cost inflation. Utilized a data driven approach to enable SCA to become the partner of choice to optimize site of service through alignment of incentives.

Developed initial strategic plan post investment by TPG. Designed same site growth process and recruited initial physician recruitment team. Created system to understand profitability by service line to enable renegotiation of payer and supplier contracts, case mix optimization, and built teams to support the development of new service lines (e.g., spine, total joints and cardiovascular). Led the IT team for 3.5 years during which time a project pipeline management process was developed, service metrics were improved and the budget was reduced by 50%.

Led assessments of clients' revenue growth capabilities based on internal and external analysis. Provided C-suite executives with detailed action plans and ongoing support as required. Primarily focused on healthcare companies owned by private equity firms.
